As Kent State University strives to build a community of change agents whose collective commitment to learning sparks epic thinking, meaningful voice and invaluable outcomes to better our society, University Libraries is focused on the following key priorities:
Student Scholarship Fund – Every dollar counts for our students. Our scholarships assist students and their families in covering their educational expenses, helping them to stay enrolled and progress to graduation. Since 2014, we have awarded more than 25 scholarships. Learn more about the Student Scholarship Fund.
University Libraries’ Capital Fund – Gifts made in support of the libraries’ capital needs will help us continue to enhance and transform our facilities to better serve 21st century learners and researchers. An iconic 12th floor reading room and new Special Collections and Archives Research Center are two leading priorities for future capital projects.
Collection Development Fund – This fund helps our libraries battle inflation and maintain our high standard of excellence in collection building. Every dollar donated helps our students, scholars and researchers access world-class information and resources.
University Libraries Special Collections Fund – Donations to this fund support the mission of Special Collections & Archives, including acquiring rare and unique materials, outreach and instructional programs that allow students to interact with historical and primary sources.
Digital Initiatives Fund – Contributions to this fund support the digitization of historical publications, rare materials and unique resources, providing free, online access to researchers and patrons around the world. Recent digital projects have included the May 4, 1970 Kent State Shootings, the Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps and the Daily Kent Stater. Browse University Libraries' Digital Collections.
LaunchNET Student Fellows – Student fellows are the heart and soul of LaunchNET, supporting their fellow student innovators, while learning first-hand the nuances of being an entrepreneur. Each fellow works 10-12 hours per week, gaining valuable work experience and building their entrepreneurial network.
